Collective Worship is a very important aspect of our school day - it is an opportunity to consider and respect a broad spectrum of beliefs and faiths. We encourage ALL our children to take part, whether they are members of a certain faith or indeed none.

Information about the school:
We are a popular, heavily oversubscribed school with an excellent reputation. We occupy a traditional building with classrooms surrounding a school hall. Religions represetned within our school are 59% Muslim, 12% Non religious, 12% Christian, 6% Skih, 4% Hindu with around 7% being made up of Roman Catholic, Seventh Day Adventist, Church of England, Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Jehovah Witness, other religions and those that do not wish to state). We are set in an area with high levels of poverty and deprivation. We are particularly keen on maintaining close contact with parents through our daily posts on Class Dojo (internal system), texts, informing parents and providing photo evidence of what happens at our school. We have an open door policy and make ourselves available and visible whenever possible. We encourage parents to share with us any anxieties that may be generated by inherently controversial areas of the curriculum such as history, geograpahy, relationship education and PSHE. RE and CW.
Our school describes itself as “Multi-cultural, multi-faith bound by the following ethos: Everyone is different. Everyone is equal. Everyone is welcome.” This inclusive and appreciative attitude towards all is an evident and pervasive culture in our school. Religious life is seen as positive contribution to the educational endeavour of developing the spiritual, moral, social and cultural life of our pupils.
We celebrate and strive to broaden our pupils knowledge and acceptance of the world by offering world food days. These are where our inhouse catering team offer a wide range of delicious treats for various themes across each year. These may be held to celebrate a special occasion, religious celebration or acknowledge a particular country around the world. Why not ask our children which is their favourite?
'The school motto of ‘everyone is different, everyone is equal, everyone is welcome’
shines through. This is a school where everyone is included and valued. The school
is passionate about helping pupils to become well-rounded, empathetic citizens.'
